Day 1: Marrakech– Imlil 1700M – Toubkal Refuge 3207M

Following breakfast, we will embark on a 1 hour and 30 minute drive to reach Imlil village, where our trek will commence. Our route will take us through the picturesque Ait Mizane Valley, passing by Aremd village before arriving at the revered shrine of Sidi Chamarouch. As we continue to trek eastward, we will cross flood plains and traverse mule tracks, ascending into the high rocky cliffs above the valley. Crossing the river, we will eventually arrive at the pastoral shrine of Sidi Chamarouch, a popular destination for both tourists and pilgrims alike. From here, our trail will steadily climb, meandering and zigzagging its way up to the snowline (in winter), until we arrive at the Toukbal Refuge (3207m), where we will spend the night. This leg of the trek is estimated to take approximately 4 to 5 hours of walking, with a height difference of 1507m between Imlil and Toubkal hut.

      Day 2: Toubkal Refuge 3207M – Mt Toubkal Peak 4167M – Imlil – Marrakech

At the crack of dawn, we will embark on our ascent of Jebel Toukbal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. Our chosen route will take us up the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge. While the terrain is relatively easy to navigate, the altitude and steep inclines may pose challenges for some. However, the magnificent views we encounter along the way make the journey truly unforgettable. Upon reaching the summit, you will be rewarded with awe-inspiring vistas of the surrounding landscape. With unrestricted views in every direction, you will be able to take in the beauty of the Marrakesh Plain, the High Atlas to the north, and even as far south as the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. After basking in the splendor of the summit, we will retrace our steps and return to the refuge for lunch before making our way back towards Imlil. This leg of the trek is expected to take approximately 9 to 10 hours of walking, with a height difference of 960m between the refuge and Toubkal peak.
