Imperial Cities and the Blue City

Your private driver will meet you and greet you at the Mohamed V Airport in Casablanca and get ready to explore the commercial capital of Morocco. Settle in and drive to the monumental Hassan II Mosque, sits on an outcrop jutting into the Atlantic and offers breathtaking views. Take a leisurely stroll along the Boulevard de la Corniche, the beach promenade that follows the Atlantic coast. Afterwards we will take the road of Rabat, the political capital of Morocco, to discover the Place du Palais Royal, the Kasbah Oudayas, the Hassan tower and the mausoleum of Mohamed V. Overnight in Rabat.

Auf dem Weg dorthin können Sie die malerische Route genießen, die von flachen Ebenen und grünen Hügeln in die bergige Landschaft übergeht. Checken Sie in Ihrem Hotel ein und verbringen Sie den Abend damit, um den Platz Uta el-Hammam im Herzen der bezaubernden alten Medina zu schlendern, lokale Speisen zu genießen und einen wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang zu beobachten.

After breakfast leave Chefchaouen behind, before joining your driver and continuing on toward Fes. Along the way, stop and stretch your legs to visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis with a local guide. A UNESCO protected site, founded in the 3rd century BCE, it remains incredibly well-preserved. From here, there is the option to travel to the smaller, less busy Meknes— a nice way to prepare yourself for your time in Fes. Meknes offers two main areas of interest, the Imperial City and the navigable Medina. Arrive in Fes late in the afternoon, check in into you Riad and overnight in Fes and lose yourself in the impressively large and complicated old Medina.

Spend the day visiting the city of Fes, where the old medina offers a step back in time. A well preserved medieval city of donkey-wide alley ways and souks, the medina is encircled by an unbroken line of ramparts and gates. Visit La Mederssa Attarine, Nejjarine fountain, and the mosques of El Karaouyine, Medersa Bou Inania, and Baba Jloud.

Travel from Fes to Bin el-Ouidane, with plenty of breaks along the way to appreciate the ever-changing Moroccan landscape. First stop in Ifrane where the houses have sloping roofs, remarkable and unusual in Morocco, also know as little Swizerland.  A 15min stop to stretch your legs, drink a cup of coffee. We continue south to woodland area in the Middle Atlas Mountain and stop for a while to observe the Barbary apes in the Aok and the cedar trees and by the side of the road. Then you continue your journey to Bin El Ouidane passing Khenifra and Beni Mellal. Arrive in Bin el-Ouidane, a small settlement perfectly placed on the bank of the lake, surrounded by sheer rocks.

Today you will travel from Bin el-Ouidane to Marrakech. There’s no rush as the scenery on the way is always interesting, and you will enjoy a stop en route at the impressive Ouzoud Falls.  The magical 100 metre high Ouzoud waterfall at the southern end of the Middle Atlas, one of the most visited sites in the area. The white falls thunder down to the bottom of a chasm of greenery, all around which are found flour mills, monkeys, pools lined with reeds. In the afternoon, we will leave for Marrakech (the Red City), check in to your Riad in the heart of the Medina " Old Town". Free evening to spend at your leisure and wander the old town.

You will be picked up from your hotel at 09am, meet your guide and start your Guided city tour of Marrakech, visit The Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Medrassa Ben Youssef, see the Koutoubia Mosque from outside  Souks and Jamaa el Fna Square. You will have free afternoon to spend at your leisure. Check optional activities below.

Depending on the time of your departure flight, you may be able to do some last-minute sightseeing, get some souvenirs before your leave to the airport.
